Ex-captain Joe Hendricks calls for intelligent players amid Asante Kotoko crisis

Former Asante Kotoko captain Joe Hendricks has expressed his opinion that the Porcupine Warriors need to focus on recruiting strong and intelligent players, rather than those with a significant social media presence.

This statement comes as Asante Kotoko is currently facing a crisis, with poor results on the pitch and reported internal problems.

In the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko has had a dismal performance in their last six games, losing five and drawing one. This has led to growing discontent among fans, who have been vocal in their criticism of head coach Prosper Ogum and the players after every game.

Speaking on Agoro Fie on Onua TV, Hendricks emphasized the need for intelligent players who can strategize and adapt on the field.

“Asante Kotoko need strong and intelligent players not social media players,” he stated, implying that the club should prioritize substance over style in their recruitment process.

Asante Kotoko will play Dreams FC on match week 26.
