The Egyptian Football Association has denied reports that it asked the Ministry of Youth and Sports to give 22 clubs an extra season to complete their legal and administrative requirements before the start of the new campaign.
A senior source at the association said no official request had been submitted seeking a full-season extension for the clubs, despite claims that such a proposal had been made.
The source described the reports as completely inaccurate and said the actual situation involved only one club. That club, which is still facing difficulties securing the required legal licence, submitted its own request for additional time to complete the necessary procedures.
The Egyptian Football Association was not responsible for making a collective application on behalf of a group of clubs, the source said.
The clarification comes as preparations continue for the start of the new season, with the licensing position of clubs remaining an important part of the process. The association stressed that its regulations are being applied to every club without exception.
It also said it had not sought any general extension covering several clubs and that the information circulating about the issue was not supported by official documents or correspondence issued by the Egyptian Football Association.
The source urged greater care when reporting or sharing information about club licences, calling on those following the issue to check official channels and rely on statements from the relevant authorities.
