Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has agreed to extend his Hearts of Oak contract at end of the season, club’s board member Vincent Odotei Sowah has disclosed.

The 20-year-old’s contract will expire in January 2023 but has opted to sign a new deal with the Phobians who are on the mission to retain their MTN FA Cup after reaching a second successive final.

Barnieh has been one of the consistent players for Hearts this season scoring 10 goals so far as the defending Premier League champions sit 4th on the league table with 47 points after 29 matches played.

“Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has agreed a deal to extend his contract with Hearts of Oak.”

“We held successful talks and after agreeing terms, we offered him a contract that reflected those terms,” Odotei Sowah told Asaase Radio.

After playing a key role in helping the Black Satellites win the 2020 WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament and the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, he propelled helping Hearts of Oak to lift the Ghana Premier League title for the first since 2009 as well as clinching the MTN FA Cup.
