Ghana striker Emmanuel Clottey says he can meet expectations if handed playing time in Saturday’s crucial 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Malawi.Â
Clottey was a second half substitute in the first leg last month in the 2-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The new Esperance recruit is yet to replicate his scoring form in this year’s CAF Champions League in the national team.
The former Berekum Chelsea striker is a member of the 21-man Black Stars squad who prepared for this weekend’s assignment in Nairobi, Kenya.
The 25-year-old hopes to make a huge impact when given a chance at the Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
“We have very good players in our team and it is always the prayer of every player to be given a chance and I believe I cannot disappoint since my job is to score goals,” Clottey said.
“I always thank God for every opportunity and I believe nothing is impossible as long as you work hard.
“Malawi is a good side that we respect a lot but at this moment we are looking at possible ways to ensure we get all the three points.”
