Clottey scores debut goal for Esperance in Tunisian top-flight

Ghana striker Emmanuel Clottey scored his first goal for Esperance on Sunday in their 3-0 win over Olympique du Kef in the Tunisian top-flight.

The former Berekum Chelsea player was handed a start by coach Nabil Maaloul and he did not disappoint.

The 25-year-old powered in a trademark free-kick on 70 minutes at the Stade Olympique de Rades and was replaced nine minutes later by by Karim Aouadhi.

This was after striker Haythem Jouini opened the scoring in the 65th minute and Khaled Mouelhi converted a spot kick in the 93rd minute.

Clottey joined Esperance, dethroned African champions, in December after an impressive scoring form in the 2012 CAF Champions League.

He emerged top scorer in the competition with 12 goals-one shy of equaling the Stephen Worgu’s record set in 2007.

Clottey’s countryman Harrison Afful last the entire duration for Esperance.
