Central African Republic head coach, Raoul Savoy has accused centre referee Peter Waweru of handing his side a raw deal in the defeat to Ghana in the AFCON qualifiers.
The Black Stars came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over the Central Africans, with the controvery on the second goal where Ghanaian attacker Antoine Semenyo robbed posession of a CAR defender before teeing up Nuamah for the winner.
Frustrated Savoy did not hold back his concerns after the match.
“I am very proud of my players. We played better than Ghana and didn’t deserve to lose. I think we should have finished this game with a 1-1 draw,” He said at post match.
“You qualify but we didn’t lose. I think the second goal was offside clearly. We knew the referee would help you guys and he did it.”
The defeat means CAR will not be at next year’s AFCON in Ivory Coast as Ghana and Angola are through from Group E.
