Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has expressed optimism about Angola’s chances of winning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Although born in Angola, Camavinga chose to represent France at international level and has since earned 28 caps for Les Bleus, scoring twice. Despite that decision, the midfielder says he closely follows Angola and believes the Palancas Negras can go far in the tournament.
“I’m supporting Angola at the Africa Cup of Nations. I followed the last Africa Cup of Nations, and we played well. I think this year we have a chance,” Camavinga said.
Camavinga was born in Miconje, in Angola’s Cabinda province, before relocating to France with his family at the age of one.
Angola opened their AFCON campaign with a 2-1 defeat to South Africa and will be looking to bounce back when they face Zimbabwe in their second Group game on Friday, December 26, 2025.
