Calls for my inclusion in Black Stars encourage me to work harder to bring out my best – Richmond Lamptey

Asante Kotoko midfielder, Richmond Lamptey has indicated that he won’t be carried away by the calls from Ghanaians for his inclusion in the Black Stars squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

After the midfielder’s outstanding displays in the Super Clash against Hearts of Oak over the past weekend, many Ghanaians are pushing for him to be in Ivory Coast for the AFCON.

Speaking on the support he’s receiving, Richmond Lamptey says it encourages him to work harder to bring the best out of him.

“I’ve heard calls for my inclusion in the Black Stars call-up. But as a professional player, these things shouldn’t get into your head but rather should encourage you to work harder so you bring out your best,” Richmond Lamptey said.

Ghana will be competing in Group B at the 2023 AFCON early next year. In the Group, the Black Stars will face off with Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
