Nsoatreman FC suffered a setback in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Algeria’s CS Constantine in the first leg of preliminary tie.
The match, played at the Accra Sports Stadium, saw the visitors take control with two first half goals from Benchaa.
The Algerian forward opened the scoring with a impressive solo effort in the 15th minute, weaving through the Nsoatreman defense to slot the ball past the goalkeeper.
He doubled the lead just 12 minutes later with another composed finish, leaving Nsoatreman with a mountain to climb.
Despite a improved second-half performance, Nsoatreman failed to find the back of the net, leaving them with a difficult task ahead.
The Ghanaian side will now travel to Algeria for the second leg and hope to overcome a two-goal deficit to keep their continental aspirations alive.
The winner of the tie will advance to the group stage of the competition.
