Ghanaian international, Daniel Amartey, and Turkish side, Besiktas, have mutually agreed to terminate their contract.
The agreement brings a close to the recent transfer saga between the two parties.
Besiktas had sought to sell the defender, who still had a year remaining on his contract, having joined the club on a two-year deal in 2023.
However, reports suggest that Amartey declined to travel for the proposed move, with the club’s spokesperson, Huseyin Yucel, claiming the player was only interested in a transfer to England, despite the transfer window being closed.
Amartey, who has yet to feature this season, is now free to join any club as a free agent.
