The Black Princesses have shifted base to Accra as preparations intensify for their third-round FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
The relocation allows the team to fine-tune tactics and settle ahead of the first-leg showdown.
Head coach Charles Sampson offered insight into the squad’s mood, fitness, and tactical focus ahead of Sunday’s test.
“Today we started with some build-up from the back so that our new goalkeeper, who just joined us, can become more conversant with the mid-backs. These are things we’ve worked on several times, but because of her, we tried to do a repetition so she gets it.
“There are no injury concerns so far, and that’s good news for the team. We’re ready for the game on Sunday.
“This is so, so important. We’re playing at home for the first game, and we want to have a big advantage going to South Africa.
The first leg will be staged at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Ghana aim to build a decisive cushion before the return match.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:30 GMT on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with progression to the next round at stake.
