Bizarre refereeing decisions will continue to make GPL unattractive – Bechem United owner Kingsley Owusu

The Owner of Bechem United, Kingsley Owusu Achiaw says bizarre refereeing decisions will continue to make the Ghana Premier League unattractive.

The Hunters lost 3-2 to Eleven Wonders on match week 25 in controversial circumstances last Sunday.

Prior to the game, there were rumours of match fixing, which has been confirmed by Bechem United Coach, Kassim Mingle.

“If what I saw yesterday is anything to go by, our League will remain unattractive,” Kingsley Owusu said on Akoma FM.

“The kind of officiating we saw yesterday was bizzare.

The referee was determined to see a win for Wonders, else the match was not going to end,” he explained.

Bechem United are currently 2nd on the league standings with 44 points, eight points adrift leaders Asante Kotoko with nine games left to play, and have also reached the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup after beating Tamale City 4-2 last Wednesday.

The Hunters will take on Karela United on Sunday in their match week 26 encounter of the on-going Ghana Premier League.
