Ghana Premier League side Bechem United has taken a bold step in the fight against hooliganism by offering a GH¢100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the death of Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley.
The devoted supporter was fatally stabbed during Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League Week 19 clash against Nsoatreman FC in Nsoatre two weeks ago.
This move follows concerns raised by Bechem United’s team doctor, Dr. Achau, whose family has urged him to avoid traveling for away matches due to safety risks.
In a related development, the police have identified the prime suspect, Brimah, who remains at large. All accused individuals have reportedly confirmed his involvement in the fatal stabbing.
Bechem United’s decision to offer a reward highlights their commitment to tackling hooliganism and ensuring a safer environment for players, officials, and fans.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko is set to resume training on Wednesday but will refrain from competitive matches until security measures are improved.
