Ex. Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan plans to organize a farewell game to raise funds for late Christian Atsu’s family.
The fomer FC Porto winger was pronounced dead on last Saturday morning following the devastating devastating earthquake which kept him under rubble for 12 days.
The 31 year old is among over 40,000 victims across southern Turkey and northern Syria following the two initial earthquakes and the aftershocks.
Speaking on Asempa FM, he said:
“I’m planning to organize a game to raise money for the family. I believe when that day comes, everyone including the stars will come on board to support us so that we can raise funds for the family of Christian Atsu, ” he stated.
The Ghanaian had recently scored his first goal for Hatayaspor just hours before the natural disaster struck.
During his career, Atsu played 65 matches for Ghana, scoring nine goals.
Two of his most famous goals came in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Egypt and in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, quarter-finals clash against Guinea, where he scored a stunning goal.
