Ampem Darkoa Ladies reached the final of the 2026 WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League qualifiers with a convincing 4-1 win over FC Dynamique of Benin in Ouagadougou on Wednesday.
The Ghanaian champions maintained their perfect record in Burkina Faso, winning all four of their matches in the competition so far. Their latest victory was secured through a dominant first-half display and another goal from top striker Milot Pokuaa after the interval.
Ampem Darkoa made a fast start at the August 4 Stadium, with Pokuaa opening the scoring in the 16th minute. She connected with a fantastic pass to give the favourites an early advantage.
Rebecca Asemani extended the lead 12 minutes later, putting the Techiman-based side in a commanding position. Gloria Adomako then added a third in the 38th minute as Ampem Darkoa took a 3-0 advantage into half-time.
The Ghanaian side continued to control the match after the break and completed the scoring through Pokuaa in the 66th minute. The goal gave the striker two for the game and further strengthened Ampem Darkoa’s grip on the semi-final.
FC Dynamique managed to score a late goal, but it proved to be no more than a consolation. Ampem Darkoa held on for a 4-1 victory to confirm their place in Saturday’s final.
They will face Nigerian club Edo Queens at the August 4 Stadium on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The winners of the final will qualify for the 2026/27 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Ampem Darkoa, champions of the Women’s Premier League, have been the standout team in the qualifiers. Across their four matches, they have scored 11 goals and conceded only two, while preserving a 100% winning record.
The result against FC Dynamique also continued a strong campaign for the Ghanaian champions in Burkina Faso. Their four victories have taken them through to the decisive match without dropping points, leaving them one win away from securing qualification for the continental tournament.
Edo Queens now stand between Ampem Darkoa and the title in the WAFU Zone B competition. The final will bring together the Ghanaian and Nigerian sides, with a place in the 2026/27 CAF Women’s Champions League at stake.
