Jim Goodwin’s team were inconsistent before the World Cup break, although they had won four of their previous six games in the Scottish top-flight. Last time out, they defeated Dundee United 1-0 at Pittodrie.

The game was a rare low-scoring game for Aberdeen, as seven of their previous eight SPL matches had produced over 2.5 goals. Talking of goals and North Macedonia forward Bojan Miovski has been prolific this season, scoring 11 goals in 15 league appearances for the Dons.

Aberdeen’s relatively lofty position in the table has been built on good home form, as they have recorded five straight home wins in the Premiership, having scored at least two goals in four of the five home victories.

Ange Postecoglou’s team are sitting pretty at the top of the SPL table, nine points clear of bitter rivals Rangers in the fight for the SPL title.

The Hoops have been formidable form this season, as not only have they recorded eight straight league wins, but they have also won 14 of their last 15 matches in the SPL this season.

Their attacking prowess has played a key role in that stellar season, as they have already scored an impressive 50 league goals this season. Japanese forward Kyogo Furuhashi has been Celtic’s top scorer in the SPL, scoring ten goals in just 13 league appearances.

Celtic have been impressive on their travels of late, winning seven of their last eight away games in the SPL, having scored at least two goals in each win.
