Danny Welbeck has taken a dig at football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano after signing a new two-year deal at Brighton and Hove Albion.
The English striker of Ghanaian reminded Romano of the controversy that surrounded ex-teammate Marc Cucurella move to Chelsea.
Romano had earlier posted the deal was done and dusted, only for Brighton to deny the report.
However, it turned out the Italian sports guru will be right after the defender sealed the move to Chelsea days later.
“I am now going to tweet here we go Fabrizio Romano,” wrote Welbeck to confirm he has signed a new deal.
Welbeck will be at the Amex Park for another two years, and manager Graham Potter is delighted with the extension.
“Danny has been brilliant for us from the moment he arrived. He became a part of the group quickly and has become a real leader. He uses his experience to help the group and is a great role model for the younger players,” said Potter.
“On the pitch, he has been really important for us, he gives so much to the team and I am looking forward to continuing working with Danny in the coming seasons.”
