Pedro Caixinha sets sights on Ghana international as first signing ahead of Rangers move

INCOMING Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has already set his sights on his first summer signing ahead of his move to the club.

The Portuguese boss has agreed terms to replace Mark Warburton at Rangers and will arrive in Glasgow on Saturday to watch his new side take on Celtic on Sunday.

He will watch his new team in action from the stands at Celtic Park after Al-Ghafara gave him permission to take the vacant post with the Scottish giants.

And Scottish newspaper the Daily Record claim he is wasting no time in looking to bring fresh faces to Ibrox with defender Rashid Sumaila being earmarked as his first summer arrival.

Sumaila, 24, is currently on loan at Caixinha’s former club Al-Ghafara from Kuwaiti Premier League club Qadsia SC.

But the Ghana international – who is Caixinha’s godson – will be available on a free transfer in the summer due to having just four months left on his current deal.

Rangers are still waiting to appoint their new director of football after suffering a setback in their pursuit of Southampton’s Ross Wilson.
