World football governing body, FIFA is set to give clearance to three foreign-born players for their nationality switch to Ghana, kickoffghana.com can exclusively confirm.
The Ghana Football Association has made advanced progress in securing the services of the three players related to the country by descent.
Black Stars coach Otto Addo is looking forward to getting the players on board for the next national assignments.
The trio are understood to be Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, Callum Hudson Odoi from Chelsea, and Tariq Lamptey of Brighton.
Hudson Odoi and Tariq Lamptey have already been in Ghana to undergo the necessary procedures for their impending nationality switch.
Nketiah is yet to arrive but confirmed in an interview with Beautiful Game podcast of considering playing for the country. “I’m open to both, playing for Ghana and playing for England as well. It’s always good to have the opportunity to potentially do that.”
Ghana is determined to bolster it’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year.
