Kamaldeen Sulemana’s Atalanta have secured a spot in the Champions League last 16, thanks to a thrilling 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund, overturning a 2-0 deficit from the first leg.
The Italian side dominated the match, with goals from Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Zappacosta giving them a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Mario Pasalic’s header in the 57th minute further extended their advantage.
Dortmund pulled one back through Karim Adeyemi’s 75th-minute strike, but it was too little, too late.
The match’s decisive moment came in stoppage time when Ramy Bensebaini was sent off for a dangerous challenge, and Lazar Samardzic converted the resulting penalty, sealing Atalanta’s 4-3 aggregate victory.
Atalanta will now face either Arsenal or Bayern Munich in the last 16.
