Kotoko Dashes Hubert Gyau’s Transfer Hopes

Published: 2 months ago
Ghana Premier League

Asante Kotoko’s Administrative Manager, Richard Akoto, has rubbished reports of Hubert Gyau leaving the club, stating the midfielder is bound by a four-year contract.

“The club has an existing four-year contract with Hubert Gyau, and as such, he is not at liberty to leave unilaterally. Any potential departure would require mutual agreement between the club and the player,” Akoto said.

Hubert Gyau joined Asante Kotoko from Berekum Chelsea in July 2025, signing a four-year deal until June 2029.

The 20-year-old midfielder had been linked with a move to several clubs, but Akoto’s statement puts those rumors to rest.

Kotoko, currently fourth with 32 points, are yet to win a game in 2026, with their last win coming in a 6-0 thrashing of Bechem United.
