Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has responded firmly to growing speculation about his future following the club’s frustrating start to the second round of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a goalless draw at home by relegation-threatened Berekum Chelsea on Sunday, a result that further dents their title ambitions.
“I am free to go to Nsawam today. Throughout my coaching career, I have never been sacked, and I have neither seen nor heard anything from management suggesting they intend to appoint a new coach. Until the people who brought me here officially ask me to leave, I am not concerned about what is being said or reported on social media,” Zito said.
“I can’t speak about tomorrow because, as you’ve mentioned, there are reports that management wants me out. These recent results have made the situation more difficult, so if that is truly their intention, then the opportunity has presented itself now,” Zito added.
