The Ghana Football Association has charged Hearts of Oak assistant coach Abdul Gazale following a touchline incident during his side’s league clash at Tarkwa last weekend against Medeama.

The incident occurred at the TNA Park when Hearts were chasing an equaliser after going behind against Medeama in the second half.

Video footage that later surfaced showed the assistant coach aggressively pursuing a ball retriever, who was accused of delaying the restart while the Phobians were trailing.

The situation quickly escalated, drawing the attention of match officials and players on the pitch.

Referee in charge of the encounter reacted by showing Gazale a red card, sending him off as tempers flared around the technical area.

Following a review of reports and video evidence, the GFA charged the Hearts assistant coach for assaulting the ball retriever.

The flashpoint came shortly after Salim Adams struck the decisive goal against his former club, putting Medeama ahead in a tense contest and ultimately securing victory for the hosts.
