The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially touched down in London to kick off their campaign in the highly anticipated 2025 Unity Cup, where they’ll face fierce rivals Ghana and Jamaica in an invitational showdown.
The squad departed from Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday, bringing together standout talents from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), along with members of the coaching and backroom staff.
Ahmed Musa, Ifeanyi Oyebuchi, Papa Daniel, Nduka Junior, Sadiq Ismaila, and Waliu Ojetoye headline the local-based players selected by head coach Eric Chelle for the tournament.
Also making the trip are Collins Ugwueze, Saviour Isaac, Abubakar Adamu, and Sikiru Alimi, who will link up with foreign-based stars ahead of full-team training on Monday morning in London.
Nigeria’s opening match will be a blockbuster encounter against arch-rivals Ghana on Tuesday, May 27, at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford.
The Unity Cup serves as a key component of Nigeria’s international calendar, which also features an upcoming friendly against Russia in Moscow on Friday, June 6, using a different squad.
