Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana was absent from the Black Stars’ 2025 Unity Cup opener against Nigeria due to visa complications.
Sulemana last featured for Ghana in November 2024 during the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Niger.
Although he was recalled to Otto Addo’s squad and was in contention to play against Nigeria, visa issues prevented his travel to London in time for the match.
The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that Sulemana is expected to join the team ahead of Saturday’s third-place playoff.
Ghana will face Trinidad and Tobago in the battle for third-place after a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria.
Sulemana’s club season was disrupted by a persistent adductor injury, limiting him to just nine Serie A appearances.
Despite the setback, the 22-year-old managed to score two goals in Italy’s top flight.
