Former Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has stated that he would dissolve the Ghana Football Association (GFA) if he were still in office.
Vanderpuye expressed his disappointment with the current state of Ghanaian football, after Black Stars failed to win a single game, earning only three points in six matches, and ultimately finished bottom of Group F
This means Ghana will miss the continental showpiece for the first time in 20 years.
“Some of the current Black Stars players are not Ghanaian type of players,” he told Pure FM.
“They are invited by some people to get market profile in other to get them huge contracts. Their hearts are not for the nation. If I were the minister, I would have dissolved the current GFA.
“I know FIFA will give us a 6 months ban and since Ghana is not going for the AFCON, we will use that period to restructure our national team and football.”
Following the team’s poor performance Ghana Football Association dissolved the Black Stars management committee and still contemplating on the future of Otto Addo.
