Heart of Lions president Randy Abbey believes his side were determined and more hungrier in their Ghana Premier League win over Asante Kotoko this past weekend.
The Ghana top flight returnees secured a 1-0 win over the Porcupine Warriors on Sunday to kick start the second round of the league in their first game at the Kpando Stadium since their promotion.
Speaking after the game, the Ghana Football Association Executive Council Member was full of praise for the quality of football on display.
“I guess that you saw it was a very difficult game. A game that both sides displayed their clear intentions of wanting to win the game,” he told Max TV.
“Of course we were hungrier and we were the better side.”
The win was Heart of Lions’ third in four games since Bashir Hayford took over after having to wait fourteen games for their first.
That also means that they have also moved away from the bottom of the league for the first time in many weeks but are still in the relegation zone, two points away from safety.
They will next take on Great Olympics on Sunday, March 3, in match week 19.
