Barcelona have been handed a financial penalty by the Spanish Football Federation’s disciplinary committee after objects were thrown from the stands during Sunday’s El Clasico against Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou.
The decision followed an incident in the 87th minute, when Real Madrid players were celebrating Kylian Mbappe’s second goal. Several objects were thrown from the north stand towards the pitch, including a bottle of water and a bottle of sparkling water, according to the report filed by referee Martinez Munuera.
Play was briefly stopped as the referee instructed the stadium announcer to issue a warning over the public-address system. Supporters were told not to repeat the behaviour.
None of the objects struck any players, but the incident was included in the official match report and referred to the disciplinary committee for consideration.
Fine capped at 602 euros
The committee based its ruling on Article 117 of the disciplinary regulations. The provision covers minor offences involving a failure to maintain order during matches and allows a fine of up to 602 euros to be imposed on the club deemed responsible.
The committee has classified the events at Spotify Camp Nou as a minor offence. However, it has not disclosed the final amount Barcelona will have to pay.
The ruling therefore establishes 602 euros as the maximum possible penalty under the relevant article, rather than confirming that this is the sum charged to Barcelona.
Barcelona are listed to face Deportivo Alaves in La Liga on 31 October 2026.
Real Madrid are listed to play Racing Santander in La Liga on 01 November 2026.
