The Upper West Regional Football Association (UWRFA) has held its 2026 Ordinary Congress as preparations continue for the new football season in the region.
The statutory meeting took place on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Upland Hotel in Wa, beginning at 9:00am.
Executive council member Eugene Nobel Noel attended the Congress, alongside delegates, club representatives and other stakeholders from Upper West football.
The Ordinary Congress is the Association’s highest decision-making body and provided an opportunity to assess the work carried out during the past season before the start of the 2026/27 football season.
Delegates reviewed the Association’s activities and considered its Activity Report, Financial Statements and Auditor’s Report. The budget for the new season was also discussed.
Other matters on the agenda included the competitions calendar, football development programmes and issues linked to the administration and continued development of football in the region.
The meeting also allowed the Executive Council, led by Upper West Regional FA Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Sadugu, to engage clubs and other stakeholders on the progress made during the previous season.
Discussions also focused on the challenges affecting grassroots football and the Association’s work with clubs and stakeholders to address them.
The Congress has provided the framework for the 2026/27 regional football season. The Association is expected to announce when its various competitions will begin.
