The Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) will hold its 2026 Ordinary Congress on Friday, October 23, as planning begins for the 2026/27 football season.
The statutory meeting will be held at the Aliu Mahama Stadium and will start at 9:00am. Delegates, club representatives and other stakeholders from football in the Northern Region are expected to attend.
The Congress is the Association’s highest decision-making body and will allow members to assess the work completed during the past season before considering priorities for the new campaign.
Delegates are expected to review the past season and consider the Association’s Activity Report, Financial Statements and Auditor’s Report. The budget for the 2026/27 season will also be discussed.
Other items on the agenda include the competitions calendar, football development programmes and matters relating to the administration and continued growth of the sport across the region.
The gathering will also give the Executive Council, led by Northern Regional FA Chairman Alhaji Abu-Hassan, the chance to engage clubs and other stakeholders on the progress made during the previous season.
Discussions are also expected to address the challenges facing grassroots football in the Northern Region.
In line with the Ghana Football Association Statutes, the Association has circulated the relevant Congress documents and agenda to its members ahead of the meeting. The material is intended to give delegates adequate time to prepare for the deliberations.
The decisions taken at the Congress will help establish the framework for the 2026/27 regional football season. The Association is also expected to announce when its various competitions will begin.
