2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 33: Asante Kotoko v Elmina Sharks preview

All roads this weekend leads to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi when Asante Kotoko will be officially crowned champions of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors club deservedly are finishing the season with the league title having established itself as the best club in the top-flight division.

This weekend, the team will play its last but one match of the season knowing that medals and the enviable league title will be handed to the team at the end of the season.

The Sunday game will be against relegated Elmina Sharks who will have nothing to play for.

That notwithstanding, the team coached by Kobina Amissah will surely attempt to spoil the party in Kumasi.

Sharks go into the last but one match of what has been a disappointing season on the back of three consecutive defeats from the last five matches.

The other two matches all ended in draws with the team struggling to pick points.

For Asante Kotoko, while things have not been smooth sailing, the team has performed very well and goes into this weekend’s game after winning two matches from the last five games.

The team knows there is nothing at stake but will attempt to thrash Elmina Sharks to make the party more exciting.

The game between Asante Kotoko and Elmina Sharks will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

The kick-off is at 18:00GMT.
