Togolese forward Yaw Annor scored the equaliser for National Bank against Al Ahly in their Egyptian Premier League clash on Saturday at the Cairo International Stadium.
Al Ahly faced National Bank (Al-Bank Al-Ahly) in a Round 7 fixture of the league’s final phase.
Annor, who previously in Ghana’s top-flight before switching nationality to represent Togo, found the back of the net in the 45th minute.
He collected the ball inside the box, held off Al Ahly’s defenders, and fired a low shot past goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy to level the score at 1-1.
Earlier, Al Ahly had taken the lead in the 21st minute through Imam Ashour, who unleashed a stunning strike from outside the penalty area.
However, W. Ali snatched the winner for the league leaders in the dying moments of the match, sealing a 2-1 victory.
The result sees Al Ahly strengthen their position at the top of the table with 55 points, while National Bank remain in fourth place with 37 points.
Annor continues to attract attention, having made a name for himself in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season, where he scored 22 goals in 30 appearances for AshantiGold SC to win the Goal King title.
