Women’s Football Development department takes campaign to Northern Ghana

The Women’s Football Development Department of the Ghana Football Association has organized a campaign to champion the cause of Women’s Football in Northern Ghana.

This campaign forms part of the department’s efforts to promote Women’s Football throughout the nation, was done in collaboration with the Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regional Football Associations.

The campaign, led by Ama Brobey-Williams and two Women’s Football advocates, Evelyn Nsiah-Asare and Winifred Mawudeku, visited the Bolgatanga Senior High School where they engaged over one thousand female students on Women’s Football and its prospects for the Ghanaian girl child.

The engagement centered around the promotion of the Sport amongst the girls and encouraged the active participation of girls in different aspects of the Football industry, including playing the game.

Female soccer teams in the Schools also had a chance to discuss and learn more about Women’s Football as Resource persons held a question and answer session with them.

FIFA representative, ,Hesterine de Reus who was with the Women’s Football Development Team, paid an inspection visit to the GFA’s Technical Centre in Winkongo. The Technical Centre which is in the school is being used for elite talent identification program.

In the coming days, the Women’s Football desk at the GFA Technical Directorate will collaborate with the Regional Football Association representatives responsible for Women’s Football to continue the different programs developed for Women’s Football in all regions of the country.
