Wolverhampton vs Bournemouth – 18/02/2023

Wolverhampton Wanderers will play hosts to Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend as the two battle it out in what could end up being one of their biggest games of the season in the relegation battle that is very unpredictable right now.
Despite the unpredictable nature, it seems as if the Cherries are the ones with one foot back in the Championship already. Their inability to get a manager in this season after the departure of Scott Parker has forced Gary O’Nell to the limelight, and it hasn’t been an easy journey for him.

Ahead of the game, Bournemouth have won two fewer games than the Midlands side with four and have the worst defensive record in the division with 44 goals going in.
In fact, they are only one point behind Leeds United in 17th, but their terrible goals difference means they need to have an inferior points tally in order to get out of the bottom three.
Last weekend, however, O’Neil’s side did manage to get an impressive draw against Newcastle United. Marcos Senesi scored a goal that day in the first half before an equaliser from the away side.
Wolves, however, have managed to win two in a row for the first time this season. Julen Lopetegui has managed to drastically change things since he joined the club just before the World Cup, and with them sitting 15th, it’s the highest they’ve been in the table all season long.
After smashing Liverpool 3-0, the club went on to beat Southampton 2-1 in their biggest win of the season on the road, as Joao Gomes won it in the last five minutes of the game. Mario Lemina was also sent off that day and now misses this game.
It’s going to be a tough game to call here in the Midlands. Both sides are well in the relegation battle and despite Bournemouth being one of the clear favourites to go down, a bad run of form for Wolves brings them right back into the problems down in the bottom four.
The two clubs are also saved a little this weekend by the game between Everton and Leeds United, as both sides in the bottom four could end up taking points off one another.
In this one, however, Forebet predicts a win for Wolves and for the game to see under 2.5 goals
