Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC has confirmed the signing of Ghanaian winger David Atanga
The 27 year old inked a two-year contract, with an option for a further year from Belgian outfit KV Oostende.
“The Ghanaian comes to Lavanttal on a free transfer from the Belgian club KV Oostende. The left-footer came to Austria from RB Ghana in January 2015 and spent the first one and a half years playing for FC Liefering, where he also made a few appearances for FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers,” the club statement said.
Atanga, a product of the Red Bull Ghana Academy, has previously played in Austria for FC Liefering, FC Red Bull Salzburg, SKN St. Pölten, and Admira Wacker.
He spent the last three seasons with KV Oostende, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in 74 appearances.
The Ghanaian international, who has yet to earn a senior cap with the Black Stars, brings valuable experience to Wolfsberger AC ahead of the new football campaign.
