West Ham will host Southampton at the London Stadium on Sunday in a Premier League relegation six-pointer. The Hammers are 18th in the league and only one point above 20th-place Southampton.

A win for either team and a loss for 17th-place Leicester City would completely change the bottom three. The teams drew at St Mary’s Stadium earlier this season, as Romain Perraud scored for Southampton in the 20th minute.

Declan Rice equalised in the 64th minute as the game ended 1-1.

Southampton are unbeaten in four straight matches versus West Ham in all competitions. Three of those four matches were at St Mary’s.

The Saints aren’t a strong road team this season. They have a record of four wins, one draw, and nine losses on the road, with nine goals for and 22 against. West Ham will aim to make home-field advantage count.

West Ham are unbeaten in four straight matches at the London Stadium.

West Ham took six points from the last six games in the league. David Moyes’ team scored seven times and conceded nine goals. West Ham are coming off a 1-1 home draw with Aston Villa last time out.

Southampton picked up eight points from the last six matches. Despite the good return in points, the Saints went winless in their last three Premier League fixtures.

Goals remain elusive for Southampton. They scored just five goals across the last six games, conceding six times. Southampton have scored the second-fewest goals this season with 23. West Ham haven’t done much better, scoring 24 times in the Premier League in 2022-23.

While Southampton struggled to score, they also struggled to keep goals out. The Saints allowed 46 goals in 28 matches. West Ham’s defence has been much better, conceding 34 times.

Southampton manager Ruben Selles could be without forward Che Adams and defender Mohamed Salisu. Both are recovering from injuries. Juan Larios, Valentino Livramento, and Armel Bella-Kotchap are all ruled out of action.

Moyes has just two injury worries going into the weekend. Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has a head injury and may sit out the match. Forward Michail Antonio could return following a calf problem. Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma lead West Ham in goals with four apiece.

West Ham’s recent home form has been good. They went unbeaten in the last four home games and should pick up three massive points versus Southampton. The Hammers should win 2-0 and potentially move out of the bottom three.
