We have been neglected by Asante Kotoko – Accident victims

Some Asante Kotoko officials who were the victims of the 2017 fatal accident have accused the club of neglect.

The Porcupine Warriors were on their way to Kumasi from a league match against Inter Allies in Accra when their bus collided with a stationary vehicle which led Obeng Asare, a technical member to lose his life.

Despite several appeals, some survivors claim they have been ignored by the club.

“The club even refused to pay our medical bills, despite floods of support from supporters and other concerned individuals,” a victim told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

“It is also reported that the bus of the club was not insured “the club bus was not insured, and we got to know this later,” said a former staff of the Club.

Former player of Kotoko Michael Akuffo who was also on the bus said, “I got nothing from the Club after that horrible accident.”

Asante Kotoko meanwhile, will represent the country in the 2022/23 CAF Champions League having won the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League under Prosper Narteh Ogum.
