All major domestic competitions will end before the global tournament begins.
Key features of the season include the Premier League being played on Sundays, with midweek slots for outstanding fixtures.
The Division One League and Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League will retain their Sunday matchdays.
The MTN FA Cup will have most matches played on weekends, with a few ties taking place midweek.
The Women’s FA Cup will be held exclusively on weekends. The digital competition, eTrophy – GFA eFootball Competition, returns this season, offering a path to the national eFootball team.
Beach Soccer and Futsal Premier Leagues will continue as part of the GFA’s expanded competition structure.
Regional Football Association leagues will begin on or before October 1, 2025, and wrap up by May 31, 2026.
A nationwide rollout of the Girls Colts competitions is set for the 2025/26 season, supported by FIFA’s Women’s Football Development programme.
The calendar includes space for off-season tournaments, and the GFA has released key dates to give stakeholders ample time for planning. The GFA aims to deliver a structured and competitive season across all divisions and age groups.
