Abukari Damba, coach of Karela United, expressed his disappointment after a 3-1 defeat against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Despite scoring early through Dafie Humin Mohammed, Karela United struggled to maintain momentum, allowing Hearts of Oak to capitalize.
Speaking to StarTimes after the match, Damba admitted, “Well I should be disappointed by I must say Hearts of Oak were a delight to watch they played with so much momentum and took their chances”
He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities in football, acknowledging his team’s failure in this aspect.
“Football is all about chances and i think Hearts of Oak just deserved to win this game because they took their chances. We did not create enough in as much as we scored the first goal we went back to sleep so we did not create enough chances thoughtless of converting them,”
Hamza Issah’s brace and Salim Adams’ goal secured the victory for Hearts of Oak. The loss leaves Karela United in 16th place on the Premier League table with 30 points from 26 matches.
Looking ahead, Karela United prepares to host Accra Lions in their upcoming match on matchweek 27, aiming to bounce back from their defeat against Hearts of Oak.
