Switzerland and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Granit Xhaka has disclosed that one of his best friends is from Ghana.
The former Arsenal captain revealed this while opening up on his love for Africans and the African culture.
“I grew up with a lot of African people. One of my best friends, he is from Ghana and Togo.
“I love the culture, the mentality, how kind they are to other people. We grew up like this with a lot of respect,” Granit Xhaka said after Bayer Leverkusen clinched the German Bundesliga title on Sunday.
The experienced midfielder in his career has played with some of the finest African players.
At Arsenal, he played alongside Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey.
Currently at Bayer Leverkusen, Xhaka is teammates with Nigerian Striker Victor Boniface and Nigerian winger Nathan Tella.
Unfortunately, Xhaka did not name his Ghanaian best friend.
