Head coach of the Black Queens Nora Hauptle believes in the readiness of her side ahead of the first leg of the 2024 African Women Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Rwanda.

The Black Queens have been in Kigali for a couple of days to fine-tune preparation.

Coach Nora has been speaking with the GFA Communications team in Kigali.

Here is a full transcript;

“We arrived here in Kigali and had a short preparation. Part of the team came in on Sunday because some of the players still had to play in the weekend”.

“They all arrived yesterday and had a session with the squad and we are having our final session with the full team”.

“We (technical team) were bringing the focus on the tactical operatives and getting use to the Astro turf. We always play on the natural grass but we like it because we are a possession team and we like to dominate the game always”.

“For tomorrow we need to be smart in our decision making on the pitch with the new regulations. We are only allowed to bring 18 players with three substitutes. So it’s about who is ready and in the championship rhythm”.

“Those criteria are quite important to bring the squad on the pitch so we have some important substitutes on the bench so they can bring”.

“We are pretty convinced that we going to win the game tomorrow with the good mood and focus  in camp”.
