Ahead of Sunday’s Women’s football festival, Jonina Ladies’ coach, Joseph Osei Owusu has expressed confidence in his side, who face Faith Ladies in the Women’s FA Cup.
Jonina will take part in their first-ever FA Cup final since gaining promotion to the top flight in 2023.
Formed in 2021, Jonina have battled to reach the pinnacle of Women’s football in Ghana, suffering a number of setbacks.
However, coach Osei Owusu has steered the ship for Jonina, leading them to a third place finish in the Women’s Premier League and the FA Cup final.
Jonins are unbeaten in five outings against their opponents for Sunday’s final, giving the team confidence ahead of the clash.
In this season’s FA Cup, they have overcome some stern test from the likes of GRA Ladies, Epiphany Warriors and Roots Sistaz.
“If you talk about Jonina, it is all about winning,” he told 3Sports.
“We are going to lift this Cup for Ante Aku community, my boss, myself, and the girls, so everybody is expected to come there and enjoy good football,” he added.
