WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship: Desmond Ofei pleased with draw against Benin

Headcoach of Black Satellites Desmond Ofei is elated after his sides draw against Benin in 2024 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship on Thursday

The Black Satellites begun their campaign at the tournament with a 2-2 draw against Benin at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé.

Jerry Afriyie opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but Benin’s Modeste Kounodji and Gabriel Moulero reversed the lead.

Afriyie’s penalty in the dying minutes secured a crucial point for Ghana.

“With a bit of luck today, we should have gotten the three points, but all in all, I’m really happy with the one point. Because for me, this one point is actually a three-point gain, if you know what I mean.

“How we had to think really deep and how that penalty came, so all in all, we’re very happy with the point.”

After picking a point in the opening game the Black Satellites face Niger next in a crucial must-win game on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
