The Albanian Cup will take centre stage this Tuesday evening as KF Vllaznia meet with KF Laçi at the Air Albania Stadium with the two finishing in very contrasting areas of the Superliga season.

Despite finishing fifth, Vllaznia actually finished the season in much better form than their opponents here. Mirel Josa’s men defeated Kastrioti on the final day of the league campaign with goals from Victor da Silva, Erdenis Gurishta, and Ante Aralica.

Just prior to this, they defeated Egnatia in another comfortable game for them as Aralica and da Silva scored once more, just as Michael Agbekpornu scored an own goal in favor of Vllaznia in a 3-1 win.

They also saw victory come over Kukesi in the league towards the end of the season, with da Silva and Mehdi Coba scoring a goal each in a 2-1 win, just as Kristi Qarri was sent off. The latter is now back and able to play in this game, however, as his suspension has now ended.

All this helped equal to a record of 13 wins from 36 games for Vllaznia in the league – a commendable feat given how they lost the same amount of league games as the champions, Tirana.

Moreover, they ended up with the third-best defensive record with only 38 goals let in from these 36 fixtures, but with just 47 goals scored of their own, Laçi won’t be as fearful in a massive goal overhaul from the opposition.

As for Laci, they did manage to win three of their last five games in the Superliga, but with the club losing the last two as we approached the finale of the campaign, just as they narrowly beat bottom-placed Skenderbeu, they are in much worse form ahead of this one.

Ilaz Zyilfu, Saliou Guindo, and Klinti Qato all scored last time out as they lost 4-3 to Partizani, which came not long after Guindo scored another goal in a 2-1 loss to Teuta.

Prior to this, Skenderbeu, Kastrioti, and Egnatio all fell to defeat at the hands of Shpëtim Duro’s men as they made it to 18 wins from 36 games with a record of 52 goals scored and 33 conceded in the 2021/22 Superliga season.

On the other hand, they did finish the league campaign 10 points adrift of the champions, and they’ll need their best form on show to win here against an in-form Vllaznia. Forebet predicts a draw here and the game to see under 2.5 goals.
