Villarreal go into Europa Conference League matchday No. 3 sitting atop Group C. The Yellow Submarine have six points from two matches and could put one foot in the knockout round with a win against Austria Wien.

A win would be a shock for Austria Wien. It would propel them up the table and give them the chance to progress to the knockout stage.
Villarreal defeated Lech Poznan on matchday No. 1 by a 4-3 score at home. The Yellow Submarine followed up the win with a 2-1 away victory over Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Israel.
Austria Wien drew nil-nil at home with Hapoel before losing 4-1 away to Lech Poznan. Wien aren’t in great form ahead of the match and are coming off a loss at the weekend 3-0 to Sturm Graz in the Bundesliga.
Unai Emery’s Villarreal are unbeaten in three straight matches in all competitions. However, their last two games both ended as draws. Cadiz held Villarreal to a nil-nil draw at the weekend in La Liga. Villarreal’s last two matches both finished with under 2.5 goals.
Emery has four players in the treatment room at the Estadio de la Ceramica. Midfielder Manu Trigueros is a doubt due to a muscle injury, while forward Gerard Moreno continues to battle a hamstring problem.Defenders Juan Foyth and Alberto Moreno are both doubts due to knee injuries.
Austria Wien coach Manfred Schmid has four players on the injury list ahead of Thursday night. Midfielder Ziad El Sheiwi is ruled out with an ACL injury and Johannes Handl has a thigh injury and may miss the game.
Midfielder Florian Wustinger is out of action with an ACL injury. Finally, forward Marko Raguz has a foot injury but could be included in the squad for the game.
