Bayern Munich lead the Bundesliga by a mere one point over Union Berlin ahead of matchday 19. Die Roten failed to win each of their last three games in the Bundesliga, with three consecutive draws.

On Sunday, Bayern Munich will go to Wolfsburg in the final match of the weekend in the German top flight. Julian Nagelsmann’s team could be in third place by the time the match kicks off if Union Berlin and RB Leipzig both win on Saturday in their respective fixtures.

Wolfsburg are one of the Bundesliga’s most in-form teams. The Wolves are seventh in the division and winners of five of their last six games in the Bundesliga.

Coach Niko Kovac will face off against his former employers. The former Bayern Munich coach was sacked just 18 months into his tenure with the Bavarians. He won the domestic double as coach of Bayern.

Bayern are unbeaten in five of their last six games versus Wolfsburg. Earlier this season, Bayern won 2-0 against Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena. Jamal Musiala and Thomas Muller found the back of the net in the opening half for the win.

Wolfsburg are unbeaten in five straight home games, with three straight fixtures finishing as wins. The Wolves have posted a record of 4W-3D-1L at home this term.

Bayern Munich are the Bundesliga’s best road team and are unbeaten in five straight games away from home. Their most recent away fixture against RB Leipzig ended 1-1. Bayern dropped points in three of their last six away matches.

Nagelsmann has four names on his injury list going into the weekend. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will miss the remainder of the season and Yann Sommer will play in goal for the foreseeable future.

Midfielder Noussair Mazraoui will miss the game as he recovers from a heart issue suffered following a bout of COVID-19. Lucas Hernandez is ruled out for the rest of the season due to an ACL injury. Forward Sadio Mane won’t return until February following a leg injury.

Kovac could be without goalkeeper Koen Casteels due to an illness. Forward Lukas Nmecha is out with a knee injury and won’t return until later this month.

Bayern Munich have a strong head-to-head record against Wolfsburg and should pick up another win over the Wolves this weekend.

Bayern Munich should find a way to win with a 3-1 score at full-time. The match looks tricky on paper, but Bayern will get the win and remain in first place.
