U-23 AFCON Qualifiers: Ibrahim Tanko applauds players after qualification

Black Meteors head coach, Ibrahim Tanko has applauded his players following their qualification to the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.

Fatawu Issahaku’s header helped Ghana to beat Algeria 1-0 after sharing spoils in Annaba last Friday in the first leg.

Speaking after the game, Tanko was on the moon and praised the the players for their effort.

“The boys did well. Am happy for them,” he said.

“We thank God for this victory and the players really showed me what they are made of. I am really happy for them.”

The 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations will be held from June 23 to July 8, 2023 in Morocco.

The competition will serve as qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games which will be hosted in Paris.
