Ghana’s Black Satellites finished top of Group C at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations after a narrow 1-0 win over Central African Republic.
Second-half substitute Joseph Opoku scored the winner in the 82nd minute, finishing calmly after latching onto a long ball from Ishmael Addo.
The Satellites had dominated much of the game but struggled to take their chances, with Abdul Aziz Issah missing a few clear openings in the first half.
Ghana came into the match unbeaten, having drawn with DR Congo and edged Senegal in their second outing.
Ofei’s team held firm after taking the lead and wrapped up all three points to finish with seven from a possible nine.
They now move on to the quarter-finals, where they’ll face one of the best third-placed sides from Group A or B.
