Arsenal and Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed he would have pursued a career in painting if football had not worked out.
Speaking to The Footy Culture, Partey said he began training as a painter after his father encouraged him to take it up as a profession, given his natural talent.
“Maybe I would be a painter,” he told The Footy Culture during a quick-fire questions and answers sessions. “I use to be good at it but now I don’t know,” he added.
Partey explained that he only went to the painting shop once before focusing entirely on football.
“I remember one day my father took me to a painting shop to start painting but I went there once and the rest of it was on the field.”
Partey’s 2023/24 campaign with Arsenal suffered a blow this week after the Gunners were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain at the semi-final stage.
