In the wake of Asante Kotoko’s exhilarating 3-2 victory over arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, December 10th, James Kwesi Appiah, an integral member of Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) and concurrently the head coach of Sudan’s national team, has emphatically asserted that the team’s strict adherence to discipline and commitment will be the pivotal factor in determining their fate in the highly anticipated 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
The former Black Stars coach added that if the Porcupine Warriors win the league this season it will be a bonus but if they are not able to they will continue to give coach Dr. Prosper Ogum time.
“I wish Kotoko could win the league but it depends on the strictness of the team now. Ogum started with an entirely new team and to get the players to play as a team takes time,” Appiah told Ghanasportspage.com.
“The most important thing is to try and win the league, as Otumfour said. If he wins the league it’s a bonus but if he doesn’t, we have to exercise patience and give him some time,” he added.
The Porcupine Warriors will play Accra Great Olympics in their next league game.
